Turns out my MIL is one of those "I like to go out for lunch after church" people. So, yesterday we indulged her and headed to Arby's (hold the grimace). She pulled the "grandma card" and guilted me into letting her get the boys chocolate milkshakes. She chose for herself a new flavor... the Triple Berry Milkshake. (Sidenote... my MIL could live off of milkshakes and hot dogs.) Now, this shake is rather large. And rather thick. So thick in fact, that she felt the need to take the lid off so she could swirl it around with her straw. Remember folks, we were coming from church, so she had on her white church pants. Do you see where this is going?
Yeah... picture it... 20 ounces of faux ice cream and red dye #40 all over her white polyester pants. My 10 year old immediately jumped into action, grabbing napkins. The 8 year old sat motionless with his mouth gapping open. About that time, a friendly Arby's trainee (as indicated by her name tag) passed by and I asked if we might get a damp towel. Poor thing... judging by the look on her face, she probably never seen such a sorry sight. But the best part, the part that makes this whole scene make me laugh until tears are falling from my face, was when my MIL handed her plastic, dripping cup over and said "and could you fill this up for me?"
